Membership. Open to all.
There is a Membership Fee of £24 a year for Juniors (Aged 12-18) and those receiving Benefit payments or in full-time education.
There is a Membership Fee of £48 a year for Seniors who are in full-time employment.
Arrangements for monthly payments can be made through the Treasurer.
Membership Fees fall due on the 1st April each year.
Application for Membership by those under the age of 18 must be countersigned by their Parent or Guardian.
Shareholders. A Club Member may purchase shares in the yacht at £10.
Each share wil entitle the Shareholder to 1 day allocation of the
yacht. This allocation will be made on a first come - first served
basis. Bids are to be made direct to the Booking Secretary.
Committee. A Committee consisting of 10 members with the following honorary officers: Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and upto 7 members is established to conduct the day to day affairs of the Club.
Sailing. Sailing Fees are £10 per day for Seniors and £5 per day for Juniors. The minimum charge (except for surrendered share days) for the yacht is £30 per day to cover maintenance and base berthing costs. The base for the Club Yacht will be Rhu Marina, near Helensburgh and will operate in the Clyde as required by the Club. The Club yacht will be insured for use by RYA qualified Skippers who are members of the Club within defined operating areas. The yacht will also be chartered by Clyde Sail Training Trust as a small sail training vessel to conduct some RYA practical courses.
Crews are responsible for the payment of their own berthing fees when away from the base.
Crewing. A “Booking Register” is established and arrangements for crewing of the Club Yacht for voyages will be co-ordinated by the Booking Secretary (Initially this will be the Secretary on 01360 449190). It is intended to qualify Triple E Club skippers to help skipper the voyages. The Club Yacht has berths & safety equipment for 6 people, though for comfort, overnight crews should be restricted to 4 persons.
Training. Club members are offered RYA qualifying courses, both ashore & onboard the Club Yacht at the cost of the training materials if they cannot access other funding. Those young people under the age of 18 may be funded by the Club.
Funding. The Club, assisted by the Trust, will conduct it’s own fundraising and be responsible for it’s own finances. These accounts would be made available to the Trust through the appointed person.
