THE YACHTS

 

CLYDE CHALLENGERCLYDE CHALLENGER is a Clipper 60 ocean racing yacht previously named “Glasgow Clipper” and has completed 4 Round the World Races.  Modified for her role as a Youth Sail Training Vessel, the yacht has had an extensive refit in 2006.  Displacing 35 tonnes with an overall length of 18 metres, the yacht is capable of taking crews wherever they wish to travel.  The Navigation & Communications suite is extensive with full colour electronic charting system through an onboard computer system with vessel positioning displayed to within 5 metres through a state-of-the-art satellite positioning fixing system and Radar. Communications fit is DSC VHF, Satellite Communications System linked to the onboard computer and High/Medium Frequency Transceiver system.  The vessel complies with the most stringent Maritime Coastguard Agency regulations and carries full safety equipment including liferaft, EPIRB, SART and personal safety equipment for all the crew.  With accommodation for 14 in individual bunks divided in to a 4 berth cabin, a 9 berth main cabin & Skipper’s Cabin, everyone has their own “space”.  The Galley (Kitchen) is spacious with a 4 burner gas cooker & oven, 2 wash basins, refrigerator and pressurised hot & cold water system.  The Saloon has seating for all the crew to eat together and provides an area for rest and relaxation.  A piped hot water heating system has been installed with radiators in all accommodation spaces.

 

 

"DEYA" is a Gibsea 43 cruising yacht that provides accommodation for up to 8 crew and 2 Staff in 5 separate compartments.  This extremely safe yacht is privately owned and chartered by Clyde Sail Training Trust for Group voyages and to conduct Royal Yachting Association sail cruising courses.  Equipped with full colour electronic charting system supplied with positional information through a modern GPS system, auto-pilot, radar & DSC VHF Transceiver this yacht has all the refinements needed for safe and adventurous voyages around the UK coast.  Fitted with a electric anchor windlass, hot water& hot air heating system to all compartments and a comprehensive galley including cooker & refrigerator, the yacht provides very comfortable crew facilities.
